Checked with WWJacobs' biographer (Anthony James) 9 Nov 200 4 - 011-44-127 387 1017. Nothing in his papers re David Morris. May have frequente d coffee house en route to/from Birkbeck College, but too f ar from workplace (St. Martins-le-Grand) to be visited fo r lunch!. 1871 Census shows Henry and Ellen JACOBS in Brighton with s on David age 7 and Mears (?Morris) age 15. 1881 census ha s Henry Morris age 23 or 25 and David Morris age 18. Fits... This would put David's birth about 1863-1864, matches 189 1 census entry. Born Jacobs, used Morris from pre-1881 until return to UK , Jacobs again by 1891.
