• Notes

  When her son, Alfred James Canavan is born in 1917 she gives her maiden name as Hogan. Possibly after her mother married Hogan she adopted his surname, but she was Jacobs when she married. However, reading her parents' court case of 1898, it throws doubt as to her father being David Jacobs as he claims that the two youngest children at that time (Amelia & James) were William Hogan's [8]
