• Notes

  There is some confusion over her maiden name. Working through Berger I, and others, come to the conclusion that she is Catherine Davids. However, the will of Isaac Levy says that she is his sister i.e. Catherine Levy. However, in the will of Isaac Levy he refers to his sister Catherine, the wife of David Levy. Based on this I have made her Catherine Levy Can't find her in 1881 - she would have been 77 In Berger 1871-1880 extracts I found the following chain. 1879 Mrs C Levy widow of David Levy of 14 Hemmings Row This entry is referenced by:- 1878 Mrs Moss Davids Refers to Mrs C Levy as sister in law And by: 1872 Anne Davids + Moss Davids (brother and sister) Refers to Mrs C Levy as sister And Mr David Levy as brother in law. Both of the entries imply that Catherine is a sister to both Moss and Anne Davids. Based on this I had Catherine as being born Catherine Davids.
