  Hannah Mary Mordaunt was a teenage draper's assistant employed at Jacobs's of Ranelagh Street, Liverpool. Jacobs' was founded by David Jacobs who had previously been the manager of Lewises. When my grandfather, Sydney Jacobs and his younger brother Julius retired in the late 1920s, the business was incorporated into Lewis's Hannah was from a Liverpool Irish catholic family.
