Done a bit of Digging too, Henry Jacobs, Jacob/John’s son is on the GSM as private member married to a Rebecca Isaacs 1841. I can trace Henry still on the 1881 census with his daughter Sarah (now Swabe – though can’t trace that spelling). Daughter is down as butcher widowed at 4/34 Duke Street. I also noticed Phillis is a Jacobs too (Jacob’s wife) her father is down as Hirsh Wassertrager, which I think would translate as Henry the Water Carrier/ Bottle. I am assuming that related to her father’s occupation. Is it worth trying to trace him to see if Phillis was a distant or close cousin of Jacob[Debbie Bozkurt]

 Clever, just looked and found an Ezra on the 1881 census a Butcher,  8 Bell Lane as per JC data. Had found this in the JC but ignored it, was looking for Phillis, Henry’s daughter. Interesting….. Found Sarah Swabe nee Sarah Jacobs, Henry’s daughter living 140 Houndsditch Butcher. She is difficult to trace as they can not get her name right,...
